Marie Kraft, Founder/Owner TofuXpress, Inc.
TofuXpress Creator Named Inventor of the Year
Philadelphia, Pa Marie Kraft, inventor of the TofuXpress, was awarded the 2013 Inventor and Entrepreneur of the year by the American Society of Inventors. She is the first female to be given this honor.
The award honors Marie’s invention and the steps she took to turn it into a thriving business. “Marie Kraft is a true visionary inventor – and entrepreneur – in every sense of the word,” said Jeff Dobkin, President of the American Society of Inventors. “Working by herself she followed her vision: invented a new product, designed it so it works really really well, went at risk with her own money to have it manufactured, and is now an invention marketing success story – selling the TofuXpress at wholesale and retail in a successful business enterprise.”
Marie’s invention is the first of its kind! She created the TofuXpress to make cooking with tofu easier and to help others incorporate more “Green Protein” into their diet.
“It started when I began eating healthier”, said inventor, Marie Kraft. “I started cooking with tofu, but the problem was it was so watery and flavorless.” says Kraft.
“I became so frustrated with cumbersome setups of plates and weights to press tofu. I started looking for something on the market and there wasn’t anything, and so I decided to create it”, said Kraft.
The press makes the process of removing water from tofu, and other vegetables simple and quick. Tofu that has been pressed in the TofuXpress has a “meatier” texture, tastes less watery, absorb more flavor, and cooks faster.
“I created the TofuXpress through 5 years of trial and error. Now I have a finished product. Along the way, I realized I not only wanted to help myself but also show others how easy it can be to eat healthier.” said Kraft.
The TofuXpress is manufactured and assembled in the United States. It is available for purchase online at TofuXpress.com and in stores at retailers through out the country (including Sur La Table).
